I am exactly seventeen years old. My father has four wives and fifty-seven children. My father has always been a polygamist; from what I heard, he has married twenty-eight women in total. My father is a poor man without any stable occupation besides doing odd jobs. He is adept at lying and owes money everywhere. Despite being poor, he doesn’t dress like one. If you see him, you’d swear he could easily donate five million naira. He knows the value of money very well but doesn’t spend it on clothes. He doesn’t own a house or even a piece of land. We’ve lived in many neighborhoods, and wherever we moved, people nicknamed us “Inna Ratata’s house” or “the house of many people.” He has no job except drinking and gambling. He’s known in all the gambling houses in Katsina. He indulges in a game called nigerful, which drains financial resources and is usually played by wealthy people because it involves significant sums of money. He doesn’t provide food and doesn’t care about the health of his children or wives. If he wins at gambling, he might buy one bowl of rice and half a yam. In the morning, when he goes out, he leaves thirty naira per room for breakfast, regardless of how many people live there. One day, he was beaten at the gambling house because he couldn’t pay his debts. They stripped him of his clothes, and he walked home in just his shorts, passing through crowds, completely shameless, until he reached our house. He doesn’t care about the upbringing of his sons or daughters, which is why our house has become like a brothel. Everyone does whatever they want because our father says that trade is the most suitable profession for any daughter he has. He stopped paying rent and said we should pay it ourselves since we’re all earning our own money. So, all my siblings took up some trade, except me. The reason for that is my exceptional beauty. Don’t think I’m exaggerating or bragging; I’m telling you the truth. In our entire family, there’s no girl as beautiful and captivating as me. I am more beautiful than you can imagine. I have the kind of figure that men desire, with a full waist and a well-shaped body. I have a well-proportioned chest, big eyes, and fair skin typical of pure Fulanis. No one in our family is as light-skinned as I am. When I enter a gathering, the women are overshadowed until I leave. I am a fashionable girl, knowing how to bathe and use perfume. I don’t have a match in terms of fragrance;
